I am passionate about creating imaginative unique designs for beautiful sustainable gardens. I take a lot of my inspiration from the natural world around me and I am interested in how thoughtful design can benefit the environment

Sarah Smith Ba (Hons) Dip GD

My background in design and illustration, my love of gardens and my passion for plants and wildlife made training as a garden designer a natural choice for me. It also means that I bring a great deal of imagination and creativity to each design.

I live in Fordingbridge on the edge of the New Forest National Park where I spend a lot of my spare time walking, surrounded by the beauty of the natural world which provides endless inspiration for my garden design work.

I do most of my work in Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset but I also undertake projects further afield across the UK.

I graduated with a distinction from the renowned Garden Design School in Surrey in 2011. Since then I have gained experience designing gardens of all sizes and styles from stylish contemporary courtyards to naturalistic wildlife gardens.

I always consider the environmental impact of a design and try to promote sustainability without compromising the beauty and style of the garden. I like to use recycled or recyclable materials in my designs where possible and choose plants that are suited to the site so they will thrive without the use of fertilisers. I try to design gardens that minimise use of water, energy and chemicals whilst increasing biodiversity and providing support for wildlife. Have a look at my blog page for further information on sustainable garden design.

I want to create a design that you will love and will reflect your personality and lifestyle so I will take time to listen to you and understand exactly what you want from your garden so that I can help you to make it a reality.
